Nana Backhous Brown together with cabinetmakers Egeværk have combined two masterful crafts in an innovative collaboration; a series of sculptures called ”Glasskibe”—masterfully carved Viking ships in glass and wood—every ship is unique in color, pattern and woodwork and are all given a name from Norse mythology.

Michael Behrens Glass Sculpture

Michael Behrens' imagination come to life through a boundless journey inspired by the enchanting underwater world. Its extraordinary details transport the beauty of the underwater world toward new horizons of style and creativity.
“My vision was and is to create objects in which you can see and feel the energy of nature”, Behrens says. In this sense, till today, he created five different series: Underwater World, Landscapes,
Seaforms, Phoenix and Evolution. The Seaform series embodies decades of Behrens’ personal sensory experiences above and below water. “I’ve always enjoyed nature, the sea, the underwater world – this made me start creating the Seaform series,” he says, “We are coming from nature and we will go to nature again. I want to stay aware of this moving cycle.”

Ann Van Hoey Sculptural Ceramics

It wasn’t written in the stars that Ann Van Hoey, born and raised in the beautiful Belgian city of Mechelen, would one day become a world-famous ceramicist. Her love for geometry and her trips to different parts of the world, including Japan where she discovered the art of origami, gave her a style of her own. This style was internationally appreciated and resulted in exhibitions and collection pieces in museums and galleries all around the world, among which Galerie Hélène Porée in Paris, Puls Contemporary Ceramics in Brussels, Galerie du Don in Le Fel, France, Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan and Museum of Arts and Design (MAD), New York.

"it's not too often that I have the courage to create a sculpture inspired by the human body. When it happens, it is because I feel the need to do so beyond reasoning. It is mostly a struggle, always a challenge and inevitably a
journey to a deeper understanding of the splendor of the human body. I love how the body expresses personality, strength and character by its posture and how glass shows its fragility. To create is not a choice but a necessity; it is my life and my ‘raison d’etre’ as well as my greatest joy. In art I feel most bonded with my spirit, Source, nature, the world, mankind, and the Universe."

Mary Angus Perfume Bottle

Mary Angus creates objects that show the beauty of glass‒the way glass moves when it's molten, the effects of color, light, and shadow on a form. Her pieces show the beauty and fluidity of molten glass through the graceful curves and proportions of the blown vessel. She uses subtle relief or more sculptural carving to highlight the effects of light and shaow on the form . "I especially love working with the perfume bottle form, I feel it is a very sensual piece, intimate in scale, a vessel meant to contain fragrance and evoke memories."

“Clay remains my favorite medium, yet other media can enhance it. I recently started sculpting and blowing glass to capture the essence of translucent, ephemeral shapes evoking water and clouds. The cloud is an elusive, mysterious element, always shifting, disappearing and reappearing in different form. As stimuli for imagination, they invite us to find familiar shapes and recognize figures in the drifting puffs, inspiring countless legends of atmospheric deities from around the world. The cloud transforms into purifying rain, bringing relief from sweltering heat and nurturing life on the ground. The combination of glass and clay sculpture traces the line between reality and reverie, bringing to life exquisite, surreal, impossible creatures to evoke tranquility and transformation."

Geoffrey Giles Sculptural Jewelry

Geoffrey Giles creates one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry. He works primarily in 18K gold, fabricating each piece himself with no outside help of any kind. His jewelry exemplifies a minimal industrial aesthetic, a combination of bold geometric forms, clean lines, and attention to surface detail.

The Glasskibe project began in 2016, and the Glasskibe in glass and wood became an overnight success. "Just like the original Viking ships, our Glasskibe travel wide and far, and are sold to collectors from all over the world. They are exhibited at a selection of galleries in England and in the United States. We handcraft and hand blow glass art and unique glass designs in a modern Scandinavian design. Our pieces are created using traditional glass forming techniques and with a special love for the classical Italian design techniques of Pastorelli and Battuto."
